Hi, Setting up FaceBook Chat on the Mac is easily done when you use the Internet Accounts Preference pane in System Preferences. All you really need is your FaceBook login and password, the rest is done by the setup app. I believe that it is automatically set up as a Jabber protocol client so I’d guess that it needs to be. Regarding Windows Live, I’m fairly sure that this needs to be done using the Skype app with Messenger built-in. Live Mail is configurable in Apple Mail but I don’t believe that the Messenger can work this way. You could certainly give it a try yourself when in the Internet Accounts pane of System Preferences, choosing Other and choosing a messaging account.
