OK, first, open the disc image and find vlc.app.
Copy that file.
Press command shift A to go to your applications folder.
Paste the vlc.app file.

To set all ogg files to play in VLC,
Fine an ogg file in finder.
Press command I.
If using leppard, interact with the scroll area.  If using sl, skip  
this step.
Press vo
I and type op.  This will get you the opens with disclosure triangle.
Press enter to go there.
VO right and you will get a pop up button. Press VO Space on the  
button and choose VLC.
VO right and you will get the Change all button.  Press VO Space on it.

You're done.  Press command W to close the file information window.
