Thanks for the suggestion. I do however want to clarify that VLC can do this as well, so it's really a user preference.

Hi Another one you can try is mplayer x! Its free in the mac app store. The thing I like about it is you can select a whole folder of music/audio books etc and mplayer x will just go and play them all.

Well yeah, for playing audio at least. Never liked the idea of iTunes adding audio to its library before you have a chance to listen. I mean, what if you don't want that audio in its library? But hey that's Apple and iTunes for you. No rant; just saying.
