I find the same issue i.e album by album. However, in my music, artist, if you interact and scroll down the context menu, there is two options, one of them is to put the artist in a playlist. Maybe this will be possible in a later version of Apple Maps. We need an option to «view all» button as standard. Apple Music always land on this stupid «my music button» and therefore only «my music button» songs will be added to the playlist when putting the artist in a playlist. Therefore album by album.
