Good point. The only thing to remember with Skype is that it doesn't use a 
connected mic automatically, it sticks with the default unless you change it. 
Be sure to connect your mic, then go to Skype's preferences and into the audio 
tab. Choose the mic from the popup button and close preferences. Then the test 
service will be testing the proper device.
