I’m totally new to this kind of procedures.
I know to ask so much but, could you please provide a short step by step guide 
to set the sender’s and receiver’s ftp via the terminal?
Computer aren’t under the same network LAN, they’re in different cities 
connected to the internet. Both are running mac OS X.

Many, many thanks… I guess the procedure should be very interesting and useful 
to someone else too.
