Just as an aside, not interacting normally works. In Mail, you don't need to 
interact with the messages or mailboxes tables; in Finder, you will be able to 
browse folder/file lists without interacting, same for the sidebar; in 
Messages, you can arrow through the conversations table without interacting; 
and so on. Some apps do require interaction, like Skype, and sometimes it's 
easier to interact since you can see one cell at a time (such as hitting only 
email subjects) but if you just want to hear the full row, you rarely need to 
interact.
