Yep, ALAC generally has a .M4A extension. M4A is actually a container format, so what’s inside isn’t immediately obvious from the name. Specifically, you probably also have AAC files with a .M4A extension. You can always tell one kind from the other by getting info on the file in Finder or iTunes.
