Hello Paul,

Have you tried opening System Preferences and looking at Mission Control. Try 
unchecking the first four checkboxes, then set all the shortcuts except for 
Dashboard to Hyphen, which is the last choice in the menus.
I don’t know that this will fix your problem as I’ve always disabled Mission 
control.
