OK, let's take your questions here one at a time.

The preferences I was referring to were, well, anything. If I have VO enabled, and someone else logs into their account, VO would continue to be enabled. That is, it's not like user accounts on a computer.

Correct, but on the new Apple TV, you do! have the accessibility shortcut option, where you can tripple click the menu key on your remote, and that very quickly will turn on and off Voiceover.

What about apps, though? If I buy an app, then someone else logs into their account, could we still use the app I bought?

Absolutely! That would work no problem. The only way this would be not true is if you had signed into an account which has parental control set up, whereby you've blocked that app with a pin. Otherwise, you'll be just fine.

You wrote:

I imagine the only problem would be updates, where it would want my password?

You know... I've honestly not had an update come down for anything while having multiple accounts set up. My Apple TV's up in my studio, and mom has another one down in the den, which isn't even a 4th gen. It's only a 2nd gen, so app updates on that thing aren't possible anyway. So, I'm sorry, but in short, I don't know the answer to your question.

Either way, it's great to know that switching accounts is pretty easy.

Yeah, Alex, I don't think you're gonna have any problem.

Yup. It's quite easy. Basically, on the new Siri remote, you'll scroll off the main home screen to settings, then under settings, go down to account. In here, you can sign out the current user, or you can add another account. Once multiple accounts are added, you simply just go back to this screen, and flip flop it over to the person's account that yu want to use.

As for preferences, what preferences are you referring to? You can't literally set different Voiceover preferences, or hide certain things from the home screen, or install certain apps just for one user, if that's what you're asking. All it does to sign into another account is to allow access to that user's content they've purchased such as music, movies, TV shows, etc. Plus, obviously, it'll link to the billing info on file with that user. So, say for instance, your spouce/significant other wants to buy a movie, but you don't want it. She could sign into her own account, buy it, then it would be charged to her payment method, and not to your's.

Subject: Multiple iTunes accounts on Apple TV?

Hey all,
We don't have an Apple TV, but I'm considering it. The thing is, everyone has their own Apple account, and we all pay for our own items, so family sharing doesn't make sense for us. On the Apple TV, is there a quick way for whoever is using the TV to switch to their account and thus access their purchased items or streaming services? How would that affect the available apps, or the preferences in use? I'm talking about the newest TV, if that matters. Thanks.
