Hello there. I don’t know about audacity. Garage band however is reasonably accessible for your purposes. Another useful and accessible tool is amadeus pro. This is a very powerful and accessible wave editor. Of course, this depends on your specific needs. You may also want to consider a mixer and a good quality microphone.
