Hi Mary & Mark, I've not yet looked at this as my iBooks is a mess
However what I wonder is if the "book Shelf" setting is an overall setting as books sit in a book shelf, And then with in that they are possibly sorted by Title, Authur or Catagories. The forth option. I've just tried this and Yeah Mary I see what you mean. Assuming it opens to your my books tab, which it seems to do by default, you will find that there are four buttons near the top, just under the buttons where you set your collection and your view, grid or list. These four buttons are on the left, bookshelf, which is the default and the one which keeps coming back, then title, author, and I can't remember the fourth one since I can't have that open while I am dictating this email. Select the "title" button by double tapping it. Close iBooks. Remove it from your ass switcher. We open iBooks. It will open to your books tab and you will find that once again bookshelf is set, rather than how you left it which was titles.
