Sorry to say the newer versions of the Macbook pro do not include built in ethernet interfaces. You must use a dongle for all apple products on the laptop side now I believe. I’m not sure about the macbook itself but the air and pro both require dongles. I think the last pro that had a built in ethernet was a 2011 or early 12 model.
