Donna, that’s funny. Sheldon couldn’t handle coffee as I recall although
recently, I remember him getting drunk a few times but I suspect you’re right.
Psychedelics would probably have left him cowering in the corner.
Being serious though, I’ve thought, more than once, that I probably
appear somewhere on the aspergers spectrum. I can definitely get the over
focused issue at times and for years I suffered with brutal shyness as well as
the inability to judge other people’s emotions. I chalk a lot of that up to
blindness not having any ability to recognize facial expressions or non audible
queues but somehow it seems like more than that. Of course, I could just be
nuts.:) Frequently, people who score higher on the IQ curve (for what ever
that’s worth) have these kinds of difficulties. My understanding is one part
of the brain being over developed crushes and overwhelms other areas like
emotional intelligence and you get unpredictable results. I have no idea what
these arbitrary numbers mean when it comes to IQ but for we who fall somewhere
in the top percentile things can get odd quickly. I remember reading that a
disproportionate number of blind people test higher on IQ than average,
especially with the condition I had. No idea whether this has been exposed to
any level of rigorous medical review or not.

As for your general comments about the show, that’s what we like to call good
writing. I miss good writing. There’s still some, Larry David is the master
of good comedy TV in my opinion, Big Bang is one of the more clever shows on
right now and let’s face it, they single handedly made being a nerd hip,
Silicon Valley is another good one. (seeing a trend here lots of HBO
references and one network) I also liked Episodes. Our friends across the
pond generate a lot of good television. Watch the IT crowd if you haven’t,
it’s available on netflix I believe and definitely iTunes. It’s my life but in
Britain with 2 guys working in the sub basement of a major corporation as the
IT guys and their boss Jen who’s a typical manager who doesn’t know her
backside from her elbow. Hugely funny.

I miss the old days when you had to be well written to be on TV. MASH, Cheers,
WKRP, Barney Miller, Sanford and Sun, even the cartoons were better,
Bullwinkle, super friends, the old Adam West Batman, good times!

One of the best things about the iTunes and Apple revolution is so much of this
older stuff is available now. On the music side especially, I love having so
much music available, I just wish it was recorded better and less compressed
but hey it’s still cool to find old projects I worked on for at the time
unknown artists available for sail and finding a new life.
