Mark, Did you change a setting on the Focus or on the VoiceOVer braille settings?
I did find the binary that does braille translation for the Macintosh appears to be based on Duxberry if that makes any difference. FS appears to have moved to LibLouis for their Braille translation in UEB. -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
