Hi Sandy, I have experienced this issue intermittently. Two things that have helped, have been first to try interacting with the message body. VO Left and right arrow will navigate you between message body and message headers. When you know you're on the message body, interact. You should then be able to read the message.
When that doesn't work, I have found that turning VO off and on again while in the message will usually do the trick.
