Anders,
I took another look at the specs of the Everest v5 and find its the same weight but the sheet feeder adds to the dimensions. Its also about $800 more than the Basic D v5. But I like the idea of being able to put the thing anywhere and send jobs via wifi. And a sheet feeder would make it more portable as well. So I will put this in my letter to Santa and wait for the jolly old man in red in December!

Hi!
Yes you are absolutly right.
Mine is sheet fed and the basic is tractor fed.
THe basic is smaller in size though.
I had one long ago.
The downside is the box with paper on the flor.

The only difference betweem the Everest and Basic is the Everest is sheet
fed, not tractor fed? That might be more convenient since one would not have to
have a box of paper on the floor in just the right position.

Well one day I hope to get my hands on one and see for myself. Appreciate
your feedback.

Hi!
I have the Index everest 4 and its really great.
I have been printing from text edit and that worked well.
You have to do some settings on the embosser ofcourse but i guess thats not a
problem for you.

Anders,
Just curious. Is the translation error free? What format of document files
work well? My needs are pretty simple so if the Index does a good job of
translating, it will be worth a good look.

I do not recall what model you have. The Index Basic D v5 interests me though
it does not support wide paper.

Hi!
I guess its doable but unnessesarry as it translates braille on its own.
I don’t know any other embossers that works on the mac other than the Index.

If anyone is running the beta software, what embossers are working well on the
Mac? My old Juliet has broken down which is not directly working under OS X
anyway.

So am exploring my options. I think it was said that the Index does its own
translation. Does that mean using DBT with an Index is not doable? If so, what
embossers will work? Thanks.
