The pro is a different animal and I think it can go higher than that.

The pro is a super desk top used for very heavy applications.  Film makers and 
such use them I believe.

The MacBook Pro is not in the same category as the Mac Pro, the Mac Pro can 
also hold piles of processors and cores and cost more than $10,000.  Still 
quite small of a server compared to some of the Dell and HP hardware I work 
with but very very good for heavy graphics rendering or serious cad stuff like 
that.
