Yeah, it looks like in my case, being I'm in the states, I would a gotten that country for free, but anything, including Canada, I'd have to pay to upgrade to premium. In the app store, it says the app is totally free, no registration, no credit card, etc.

So then, I kept flicking down, and it says offers in app purchases. I was like, wait, I thought they said above that it was free!

Needless to say, I'm not very impressed at the dev's marketing ethics with that. If it ain't free all around, then don't say it is.

I gave it a 1 star rating/review. Shruggs. Anyway, if it works for you, then that's what matters most. So, good luck with it. Not my cup o jo, but, I can't be made to please everyone. LOL!

Hey Chris. When you first get it in the app store it's free. But in order to use a US VPN server, I had to pay $7 Canadian and that's a monthly subscription.

Shawn,

I'm actually more familiar with a service called "Hide my Ass," but that being said, I'm curious. Is there any cost for this app?

Subject: Betternet VPN

Hi guys. So tonight I was being adventurous and I downloaded an app called Betternet which is a VPN service. I wanted to explore the American iHeartRadio app because I heard that you can do more things with it that it has to offer that the Canadian app doesn't have such as making your own radio station and so on. So I'm now connected to a US VPN server but I have a few questions. Does anyone know how much cell data will be used if I choose to use it out and about? If it uses a lot, where can I change which apps use data? I went into cellular data in settings and I didn't see it in the list of apps that use cell data. Any help would be appreciated. I'm writing to both lists because I don't know if one or the other knows too much about VPN's. Thanks.
