Twice in the past week, I have come in to wake my Mac Mini from sleep to fined it hopelessly locked up, apparently due to a rogue process eating up all the resources. The only way to regain control is to force the machine to shut down. Since there’s nothing I can do when it gets into this state, I’m wondering if one of you Mac OS experts can tell me where I might look after the fact to discern the source of the problem. Are there logs I can examine? My computer usage patterns have not changed significantly except that nightowl has been left running and I remember Skype possibly upgrading itself in the past week or so.
