Very true, but also the iMacs were updated at the same time and so
were the MacPros, so all the desktop lines were recently refreshed.
Apple does not seem very eager to adopt blue ray in any of their
products, not that I blame them. The media licensing, and the DRM the
movie studios want for Blue Ray is at the level of insanity. Not that
Apple is unwilling to embrace DRM when they need to but, I must say,
Apple's DRM even though I don't like DRM of any kind is among the most
fair I've ever seen implemented. The same cannot be said for the DRM
required to implement a proper Blue Ray system. Remember, too, that
Apple sells and rents HD movies from their iTunes Store and a good
deal of their customers use that instead, so my guess is they'd prefer
you did that :).
Still, we never really know what they'll do until they do it.
