I remember that portable receiver as well. I will be curious if you try it. The problem I see with this approach is that the actual GPS Mark, so to speak, is often some ways away from the actual building you're trying to go to. It might be in a parking lot for instance. Or so I have heard from the makers of nearby explorer and Seeing Eye GPS.
