Hi, the volume is actually two buttons on the left hand side assuming the face 
of the phone is towards you with the round home button towards the bottom.  On 
the upper right side will be a single button for locking the screen and 
opposite these will be 3 controls, up, down and mute which is a switch.  

To set the volumes, while you hear audio like voice over press up to increase 
and down to decrease.  To turn up your call audio, while on the call press up 
volume which controls the phone audio separately.  Also, set the ringer volume 
the same way pressing up or down while the phone is ringing.
