Simon,
Might do that. Are there cases where a device may not like one or the other band?

Hi ET,

I know every one is different but I always tell people to make both 2.4 and 5
the same name so that it's the device that makes the choice.

This caused a few arguments recently at work because we are meant to be telling
people to only connect to 5GHz bands due to our system being unstable
However not all devices have been switched to multy frequency capable devices.

The SSID for the 5g has 5g in its name so I know which is active.
The ponly reason I knew it was changing bands was that my printer is not
connected to the 5g band and its not easy to change it on the printer.

But it was fixed with a router update which I carried out yesterday.

Use different SSIDs for 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz that way you join one or the other.
Else use one SSID and let it band steer to the frequency it wants because
that’s usually a change do to conditions and signal strength etc.
