Your Mac requires that the windows account you are signing in to have a proper username and password. You cannot use guest. You will need to make sure you have a password setup on your Windows 7 user account, and that your Windows 7 user account has full permission to access that shared Drive. The sharing permissions have to be set up manually in the sharing options of that folder.

Once you have that all set up, you may want to go and do some things behind the scenes to make your Windows 7 machine start out with and requiring a password.

Hope this helps, Eric

Hi all:

i need to share a folder between my windows and my mac.
in windows 7, i made all steps, and i’m sure that it’s visible on the network, because i signed from my wife’s windows laptop, but on mac, i can not see the folder at all. I hit Control+k, i found my PC name, i hit connect, i didn’t set a password, so i wrote guest. but i failed to connect, so
what’s wrong here?
