The thing that makes me sad is that Apple, by all accounts, including theirs, is abandoning touch ID completely on the phone. The security issue is specifically if you disable that part of face id that requires you to actually look at the phone. I think I read that this will be off by default if the system detects VO is in use. And this means there is less security to the face id feature than is the case if this setting is left enabled.
