Just to add to this, I don't think Apple Watch has any concept of a keyboard.
There's no normal typing, just preset replies, dictation, and handwriting with
one finger. Thus, the passcode keypad is a bunch of buttons, not an actual
keyboard. It would be nice to have the option of just lifting a finger, but
right now, I don't think that's possible even for Apple. They'd have to change
the underlying software to tell it what a keyboard is. The good news is that
you can set things to unlocking your phone will also authenticate your watch.
Just strap the watch on, unlock your phone, and you're done. No need to keep
the phone unlocked, either.
