Thanks much. It just was a matter of using all of the keys in the proper combination- command and then releasing command then hitting function and F5 simultaneously. On the plus side, I put together portable preferences and changed that in my preferences, so hopefully no more dinking around with that. Thanks much to you all for the help. It is an adjustment going from nothing but Windows, but it's happening.
