Ah, the space issue was probably why I could not get a shortcut to work for 
move message to family folder. I knew I could put the Family folder into 
favorites and then use the automatic keyboard shortcut to move mail messages  
to a favorite folder, but I wanted something a bit more mnemonic.

For those interested, one is supposed to be able to use -> for accessing 
sub-menus in setting up keyboard shortcuts.
