If you want to create an install drive without having to type commands
in the terminal, here is a link to a program called install disk
creator. It automates the process of creating an install drive. I made
one with an 8 GB SD card, works great.

Hello Angus,
If you download Mojave and quit the installer, here is the terminal
command to make a bootable installer key. You need a USB stick of at
least 8 gb and you need to name it Untitled.
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\
Mojave.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume
/Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath //Applications/Install\ macOS\
Mojave.app —nointeraction
And for those who have a Mac that’s just too old to take Mojave but did
take High Sierra, there's a hack available. Unfortunately, you need
sighted help to use the hack. We’ve used it on a white MacBook from mid
2010 and it works beautifully.
Cheers,
Anne
