Well personally, because I had the unwanted experience of getting one of my iPhones stolen, I recommend that people should have a pass code to unlock their phones and have touch ID enabled for that extra security. Not only for security reasons, I use touch ID to make purchases via Apple Pay when I come across those inaccessible debit machines. Trust me, it's a life saver. And seeing as how you have an iPhone 8, it'll unlock itself with your fingerprint 90% of the time. Try it out and see what you think.
