All squared away. That was why ATV didn't see any content. I changed the location to that parent folder and its good now. Good thing your wife did not toss your laptop out the window this summer. :)

ET,

Normally, when choosing an iTunes library from the Option key, I suggest you pick the iTunes parent folder,, not the iTunes Media folder.  Since the parent folder contains the ITL and other database files, the proper libraries are normally chosen.  It looks like what you did worked anyway, so good work.

Tim,
Had a hunch so while holding the option key I opened iTunes and tried choosing the library that way. Selected the iTunes Media folder and opened it. Got an error message and googled it. Eventually found the fix was to select the .itl file directly. But it was old so copied the most current one from backup. That did it and I watched Star Trek. :)

I don't know why that most current file was not on the external drive but was on the backup drive which I run weekly. Strange.

Hi,
Hmmmm.  That's interesting indeed.  I checked on my system and everything is fine.  When I connect to my MBP with Mojave, I see the local media, but not the iCloud Music Library based content.  When I connect to my El Capitan server, I see everything there as well.  Sure does sound like a security thing to me, but I'm not sure where the problem lies.

Hi,
Are you using Apple Music or iTunes Match?  Just checking to make sure that your music is stored locally instead of being Cloud based.  If you connect to a computer where the music is primarily streamed instead of being stored locally, that Library may show as having no content.

It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong to me.  I suggest you disconnect then reconnect and make sure to have your computer handy in case there's any security code that is required now.
