Yeah it's an ok set of speakers,

 It works fine on the mac book otherwise.

Are the USB speakers a class device?
Meaning do you need to install any drivers for them to work?
On my 2018 Mac mini, I need to use a cheap Logitech sound card to get narrator 
to work, when installing windows 10.
