Note that these instructions only affect conversations on the Messages app on
your Mac. Muting a conversation on the Mac does not mute the same conversation
on your iOS device. They are independent, even though they are linked in other
ways.

Once in the messages app move over to the list of messages since it is the only
table on the aap screen, I usually use control-option-command-shift-T.
Now interact with that table.
Find the muted conversation and use control-option-shift-M to bring up the
contextual menu and you should find "Do not disturb" checked. Uncheck the item
and the conversation should now be unmuted.
Note, it might be possible to mute a person in the contacts application.
