Let's get side tracked. (grins) I am still doing it too but making progress.
Part of it was also dealing with genres. There are simply way too many to suit
me.

I hear you. I spent about two hours yesterday just going through my iTunes

Hi!
Seems this is a problem in Apple Music too.
I have a Christina artist here and some of his records are Singer Songwriter
and some are Christian and gospel while some are just rock or pop.
Makes me frustrated.

Thanks! That worked.

Now that that problem solved, has anyone noticed that the genre classifications
in iTunes are totally messed up? I have James Taylor‘s greatest hits in my
iTunes library, and it’s classified as punk and alternative. Whaaaaat????
Cheers,
Donna

Yes, I do this all the time. Once you have opened your music app on your phone
flick across until you hear the edit button and double tap that. Then you can
select genre and it will show up on the home screen from your music app, once
you have double tapped the done button. You can add lots of other ways to
select your music as well, for example artists.

Hi again,

Sorry but I'm spending the afternoon trying to resolve weird issues on my phone
and my Mac that have been bugging me for a while.

I want to be able to shuffle music on my phone by genre. the only way I seem
to be able to get the Genre button to appear is by selecting downloaded music.
When I'm in downloaded music and have Genre selected, I can hit Shuffle, and
all is well. But is there any way to get the Genre button to appear without
limiting myself to downloaded music? Running latest IOS.
Thanks,
Donna
