Will that do the trick for you?
I cannot speak directly to managing this on your device, but my flip has
a separate setting for managing text and e related message notifications.

Hi,
Yes, you are correct in that it will silence notifications from that
conversation until you unmute the conversation.

I???m guessing that if you swipe up once on a message to hide alerts that will
silent messages from that person all the time? I???m not played with that one
but I have turned it on accidentally many times when I???m deleting messages.

Hi Karen,
No, it's messages, as in iMessages or text messages, that cause me grief. I've
got around it for most other notifications. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Tim,
Is it a certain type of message notification you are getting?
I ask because if it is say a message notifying you of in coming mail, perhaps
the notification control is in a different area?
Just a thought,
Kare

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried that. It works well for most, but not
for when messages come in. I do have it off already. Even in Settings, Notifications,
setting Notification Previews to "Never" does not seem to make a difference.

Hello,
There is a setting in voiceover that says always speak notifications. See if
turning that to off will help.

Hi,
Sorry for the cross post. Hoping that someone can be insightful.
Has anyone figured out a way of silencing message notifications while you're on
a phone call? I was able to mostly silence other notifications so that there
is just a vibration or minor attention grabber in order that I know something
came in, but it's not distracting. Whereas, iMessages are another story. VO
likes to read them out as they come in, which can make it extremely hard to
hear whoever is calling me as well as being very distracting.
I have suggested to Apple of implementing something like "do Not Disturb While on
Call", but I'm not quite important enough for them to jump at my requests. I have
played with a number of notification settings with no joy yet. I even checked in
Activities to see if I could do something from in there, but no obvious fix reached out
to me.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
