I have actually tried this, interesting that it does work on the M1 macs, I'm using an Intel based mac mini, I think this generation was introduced in 2014 and they were sold until 2018. I'll try the voiceover menu, I set up numpad star to do a right click of the mouse and that does not work. Sounds like it mainly happens when using the dock with the keyboard.
