The command assignments are specific to the type of braille display connected, which is presumably why they won’t appear unless you have a working display.

I would suggest reviewing the table of commands (with the display connected, of course) and deciding whether to make changes. As to opening applications, you would typically use the braille display to simulate the relevant keystrokes (e.g., using the dock). Likewise, simulating Command-Q closes an application.

My personal preference is to use the Qwerty keyboard for most input and to read the braille display as I wish. However, different users have different preferences.

Subject: Braille Display Commands on Mac

Hi everyone. I am working with a student who is using a Brailliant 32. I have used this display in the past, but it was a few years ago. None of the commands for VoiceOver work for the display and I think they need to go into the commands table to fix it. As I don't have a display anymore, where is this option and are they able to add/modify commands for quitting/opening applications?

Thanks

God bless.
