Actually, when using the Zoom app, it depends on the meeting settings as determined by the owner of the Zoom account that is hosting the meeting. There is a setting in Zoom, that when enabled, restricts meeting attendance to only authenticated users. An authenticated user, is a user who is signed into a Zoom account. This restriction is rarely implemented for most meetings, and therefore, most meetings can be attended by attendees who are not signed into a Zoom account. I believe this is true regardless of through which platform one uses to attend a Zoom meeting.
