Thanks much, Tim, now it is working fine again as Automatically Detect was not
selected.

You are a Magician, Tim! *smile*.

Hi,

I’ve pasted in part of our conversation. This handles the adding of languages
in System Prefs which should not have been affected by a VoiceOver reset.
Those languages are somewhat independent of VO, although connected in other
ways. Do you have your Voice set to Automatically detect new languages? Press
VO-cmd-shift-left or right until you hear VO say “Voice”, and make sure you’ve
selected the Automatically Detect item.

Anyway, here’s the pasted in info:

The only Hindi voices I’ve seen in VoiceOver are Lekha and Neel. In the VO
Utility, go to Speech, then VO-space on the current voice menu item, and down
to Customize. In the Search field, type Hindi, and you’ll find what they have
to offer at this point in time.

Later…

Thank you very much, Tim, I have successfully added Hindi and Voiceover is
reading Hindi now!

Can I see whether we have more voices for Hindi? If yes, where can I see that,
please?

Thanks again!

Thanks!

Hi,

It’s in System Preferences, Languages & Region. You should have a button in
this pane that says “Add a preferred language”. A list of supported languages
will come up in a table. Hinki is one of them. As my Mac read through them,
it would read them out in their native tongue, then say Russian, or Hungarian,
or Hindi etc. Hindi is one of the languages within this table. It does not
appear to be alphabetical so you’ll likely have to go down a ways to find Hindi.

HTH.

Hi, Group.

Lately, I reset my Voiceover to factory default and my added languages are not
working ever since.

A couple of weeks ago, Tim Kilburn told me how to add more languages and I
added Hindi and Arabic and Voiceover were recognizing those languages just fine.

I can not find that message of Tim’s in which he told me how to add a language.
If someone still has that message, I would like to have a copy of that, please?

Thanks!
