Hi Anders, After the initial back up super duper only takes me 4 or 5 minutes to up date the original back up using the Smart Update option. 18 hours is way too long though. Heres a blurb from my SuperDuper below; Pressing "Copy Now" will use "Backup - all files" to copy Macintosh HD to WD My Passport MBA using Smart Update. All files on Macintosh HD will be copied to WD My Passport MBA, except the temporary and system-specific files that Apple recommends excluding.
Smart Update will copy and erase what's needed to make WD My Passport MBA identical to your selections from Macintosh HD. The result will mimic "Erase WD My Passport MBA, then copy files from Macintosh HD," but will typically take a fraction of the time. Finally, WD My Passport MBA will be ejected when SuperDuper! Quits.
