typing the first character of list items so as to quickly move down into that

“signature tags” that I’ve created from “Quote of the Day” in prior days and

in that region of the list. That is not working consistently.
For example, the “Second Mouse” tag below is a bit down the list; yet if I
wanted to create a tag such as “Wisdom Outweighs,” simply typing a “w” upon
entering the signature list often does nothing at all. The aggravating aspect
of this is that SOMETIMES it works. And to top it off, when I am in a folder
and trying to locate a file in this manner it does work all the time.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
