Hi,

If you just want to use it for storing stuff you copy over, then xfat should work just fine.  If you want to use it as a backup then apfs is what you want.

Hi again. What format do I need for erasing a hard disc to use on the Mac? It
is currently formatted for Windows, which means I can’t write to it. I plan to
use it to store things like books, movies, music and the like. APFS case
sensitive, encrypted, etc? I was about to erase it when I realized I was not
quite sure what format to choose. I do not need to keep the two or three PDF
files that came with it, and that is all that is on the disc.

Thanks for any help.
