Try looking and see if cursor tracking is turned off. This sounds like the behaviors when that is the case.

Guys,

I hardly know where to begin or where to put this.  I’m having some weird problems with my VoiceOver and what I guess is keyboard focus.  This began in Sibelius but has spread to all apps and that's why I'm writing you here.

For some reason, in Sibelius, if VO is running, I can’t select notes or bars by using the shift and arrow keys.  I have limited vision and I know what the screen should look like as notes are selected.  But this doesn’t happen if VO is running.  If I turn VO off, the selection looks as it should.

Curiously, if VO is on and I press shift and arrow, VO says that things are being selected.  But I know the screen is not reflecting that selection.

I saved my VO preferences and then cut to default preferences.  Sibelius appeared to behave as it should under VO.

Further, when I switch apps with CMD TAB, the active window may not show up on screen and new text added to the window may not appear even though ‘VO speaks words or text as it’s typed until I CMD TAB out and back in.  I may even have to turn VO off and back on to see text appear correctly in the active window.  This is highly irregular.  I’ve even seen the graphics of the various apps that show up as you CMD TAB through them remain frozen on the screen after I’ve supposedly settled into my preferred active app/window.

I don’t want to rebuild my preferences.  There are issues with switching between languages and voices to read in foreign languages I’m attempting to learn.  I don’t have the energy to rebuild a lot of things.  Could anyone give me any pointers on how to debug my VO preferences to figure out what’s wrong?  I suspect there’s one preference that has become mangled by accident.  It’s almost as if Quick Nav is involved when it isn’t.

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin
