I would suggest taking this to a Linux-related mailing list such as https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list

I can comment here on the MacOS terminal, though, which is on topic. If you choose appropriate tools, I think you’ll find the Linux terminal experience better than that of MacOS with VoiceOver in Apple’s Terminal application.

Although I find the MacOS terminal somewhat usable, it is also clear that Apple’s Voiceover developers have done little to enhance its accessibility. VO-Shift-F4 is a useful command to move the VoiceOver cursor to the location of the keyboard focus. To move to the top of the current window, use VO-Command-Home (VO-Command-FN-Left-Arrow for MacBook keyboards). You may wish to turn on QuickNav to review the lines of text in the terminal more easily.

What can you say about accessibility in global and command line? The question is also for Jason and other Linux users. I'm sorry if this is off topic. I could probably run it on the Mac if I wanted to set up ARM64 Linux in a virtual machine. However, I don't think it would be worth the effort of trying to get audio and braille display support working reliably in that environment. The MacOS shell prompt is similar enough to Linux that I'm comfortable there anyway. >> >> -- >> The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list >> >> If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. >> >> Your Mac Visionaries list moderator is Mark Taylor.
