Hi Paul, I'm also in the UK and have exactly the same issues with those appointment messages. Using the rotor to navigate by links seems to put focus on the link, but I still can't activate them.
I tend to copy the whole message and paste it into the Notes app. Once there, I can edit the text so I can copy the link and paste into Safari.
