when it starts making the tones, I usually lower it a little and start moving 
slowly back and forth or sometimes in a circular motion. the closer you get, 
the faster or closer together the tones will get. I’ve had a few times where 
they were really. going fast and still the bar code wasn’t recognized. usually 
though, it’ll do that for a few seconds and then read the bar code.

I only use this if I’m looking for cooking instructions. I can get the Short 
Text setting to read me what it is. I have a lot more trouble getting it to 
read cooking instructions.
