I would have to say I love them both. I love my Mac, to be sure. But my phone
serves a different need, occupies a different space. I use my phone for
fun—playing games—for media, for communication—messaging and WhatsApp---for
getting general information like weather, and for controlling smart devices in
my home. Other than occasionally using iMessage, I don’t do any of those
things on my Mac. I could go out of town for a few days and leave my Mac at
home, whereas I wouldn’t dream of leaving my phone behind. My Mac is for
things where I want a keyboard, like email, web browsing, and some work stuff.
I do think Apple envisions a day when the traditional computer as we know it no
longer exists. The Apple Vision Pro seems to bear that out. And I suspect
that day will come. But I bought an iPad, wondering if it could replace my
Mac, and after a few months decided that it couldn’t, at least for me. I doubt
I will buy another iPad.
Cheers,
Donna
