Hi Shannon, Before anything else, go to the View menu, then Inspector submenu. Make sure that Format is checked rather than Document.
Now, highlight the text that you wish to change. Press VO+j to switch to the Formatter. Make sure that the first option, Text, is selected. VO+Right cursor until you get to the Text Formatter Scroll Area. Now interact with the scroll area. As you VO+right cursor through the options, you should find a Spacing setting. VO+j will take you back to the body of the document. HTH.
