It always worked for me. If Option-Left/Right-Arrow commands aren’t working for you, I would suggest providing full details of the email application being used and the software version; also, the version of macOS being used. If no one else on the mailing list is encountering the issue, it may need to be taken up with Apple’s technical support department.
